Sunday Coming of Age for 9th and 10th grade | 9am only
Coming of Age is a rite of passage program unique to Unitarian Universalism that celebrates our youth as they make the transition from childhood into spiritual maturity and responsibility. UU congregations all over the globe celebrate Coming of Age by setting aside special space for youth to engage in reflection, discernment, and celebration alongside adult mentors who help guide them. Families often identify this class as a deep and meaningful bonding experience for the whole family. Our hope is that you and your youth will emerge from the group with increased confidence, self-awareness, and skills for living well with spirit and purpose.

Our Whole Lives for 7th and 8th Grade | 11am Sundays
This curriculum, led by trained volunteers, recognizes sexuality education as a lifelong process of acquiring information and forming attitudes and values about identity, intimacy, relationships and sexual health. The program also recognizes that sexuality education begins at home and continues through open, honest communication between parents and children. The aim of OWL is to provide resources to help parents talk about sexuality with their children. The Parent Orientation on Sunday, September 22nd from 1-2pm is required for this section of OWL in order to introduce the curriculum and to answer questions about the program. Participants are asked to maintain regular attendance and once the course has started drop-ins are not permitted.

Our Whole Lives for 4th and 5th Grade

Accessibility and Medical Needs

It is important to us to create an accessible, safe, and welcoming space for our children, youth, and families. It can be helpful for us to know if there are accommodations that helps your child in school or other settings or if there is anything that can help us get to know your child.

Family Involvement and Orientation

Spiritual Growth at WBUUC is not just an individual journey, but an invitation to deepen community. When families register for our programming we ask them to:

-Attend an orientation meeting before your child starts to attend programming (please check the date you plan to attend, below)

-have one adult from each household sign up to visit a classroom 2 times during the program year. (A link for sign-up will be sent out to families.)

We hope that this helps families connect to one another and to the larger WBUUC community, helps our families understand the expectations and goals of our programming, and helps our parents and guardians learn more about Unitarian Universalism.

If one or both of these requirements are not possible for your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to Amy or Matt! We look forward to being in conversation!
